Virtual Care

We bring UW Medicine doctors to you with telemedicine visits

Receive personalized healthcare from home

With telemedicine, visit a UW Medicine doctor like you would in person for primary, urgent and specialty care — by secure video instead. You’ll receive the same personalized medical care as you would in a face-to-face visit. UW Medicine telemedicine visits are safe, private, and secure, and are a covered benefit for most insurance plans (double-check with your health insurer). And our UW Medicine interpreter services are available.

Schedule telemedicine visits for many health concerns, such as:

  • Acute care (for an illness, injury or infection)
  • Behavioral health
  • Chronic conditions
  • Follow-up care
  • Medication management
  • New pregnancy
  • Pre-surgical evaluation
  • Primary care check-up
  • Reviewing test results with your doctor

How to schedule and prepare for a telemedicine visit

Health concerns or procedures that need an in-person visit

Sometimes a physical examination is a necessary part of your doctor visit, such as skin cancer check and immunizations.

Get care now

We are committed to providing you and your family with several options if you need care in a hurry, after hours or on weekends.

For life-threating illnesses and injuries always visit the hospital emergency room or call 9-1-1.

For UW Medicine established patients who are experiencing clinical symptoms after hours and on weekends call your clinic phone number to be connected with a consulting nurse. Calls are routed to an intake team and a registered triage nurse will call you back within an hour to assess your symptoms, determine the appropriate level of care, and provide advice regarding how to manage your symptoms at home or while awaiting treatment.
