William Altemeier, M.D., is a board certified physician at the General Pulmonary Clinic at UWMC and SCCA and a UW professor of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine and Medicine, an adjunct professor of Pathology and an affiliate investigator at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

Dr. Altemeier is a specialist in transcriptional regulation during acute lung injury. He strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Atlemeir earned his M.D. at Vanderbilt University. He is board certified in both Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Disease. He is particularly interested in critical care medicine and smoking-related chronic lung disease.

Outside of work, Dr. Altemeier enjoys reading, bicycling and hiking.
