Dr. DeSantis is a marvelous physician and, in my experience, a terrific person- expert, respectful, warm, no-ego and deeply knowledgeable about his field, acknowledging when a question or issue is outside his area and helpful in suggesting or finding answers. His approach is expert, relaxed and encouraging. I feel so lucky to be in his care.

Dr. DeSantis spent nearly an hour with me, listening to my concerns and my story, taking notes, asking all the right questions, and explaining things to me at the level of detail I wanted. He was so clear and caring in his communication, laid out all of my options and made sure I understood them before we developed a care plan together. While weight and weight loss did come up in the appointment (since it relates to my condition), he approached it from a very neutral, medical standpoint, understood how my condition impacts weight, explained my options for medications that could help, and even acknowledged weight stigma as an issue. As a patient in a larger body, I really appreciated that.

I have spent my whole adult life working with the doctors and specialists here in Bellingham WAAnd they never could figure out what was wrong with memust be depression, mental etc and drugged me up to the point I couldn't function!!
