Biography

Stuart Shankland, M.D., M.B.A., F.R.C.P., is a board certified physician at the Medical Specialties Center at UWMC and UW Medicine’s head of Nephrology. He is also the UW’s Scribner Endowed Chair in Nephrology and a UW professor of Medicine.

He is a world leader in researching kidney diseases, where his NIH funded research studies kidney regeneration. He serves as the treasurer for the International Society of Nephrology and is a member of several national and international leadership committees related to kidney disease.
