Biography

Steven T. Lewis, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist who specializes in management of inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer prevention, and general clinical gastroenterology, including unexplained abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and disorders of absorption and motility affecting the intestine

Dr. Lewis's clinical interests include the education of gastroenterologist's through his clinical appointment in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington

Dr. Lewis believes that medical care is best when the patient is a full member of the care team, with a complete understanding of the origin of their medical problem, including its cause and options for treatment. He believes his role as a teacher to be as important as important as his role in planning diagnosis and treatment

Personal Interests

Dr. Lewis enjoys family time, including traveling and skiing with his wife, children and grandchildren. He is a below average infrequent golfer, average fisherman and loves politics and cinema.
