About Sara L Zettervall
Sara L. Zettervall MD, MPH, is a board-certified surgeon and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at UW School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery training at George Washington University in Washington, DC followed by fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, a Harvard teaching hospital. In addition, Dr. Zettervall completed a 2-year research fellowship at Harvard as part of the National Institute of Health Harvard-Longwood T32 Program.
Dr. Zettervall is trained in the use of both open and endovascular approaches for the treatment of vascular disease. She has a clinical interest in complex aortic disease and the management of carotid stenosis including TCAR (stenting) and conventional endarterectomy. Dr. Zettervall believes in building partnerships with patients and their families to help them make the most informed decisions for their care.
Dr. Zettervall is also a member of the Multidisciplinary Thoracic Aortic Program “MTAP” to support patients with complex thoracic aortic conditions as a Vascular Surgeon. Learn more about the program at sites.uw.edu/uwmtap.
Dr. Zettervall has an extensive research background focused on improving outcomes for patients with vascular disease. Her current research focuses on the evolving technology and treatment of aortic disease.
