About Santiago Neme

Santiago Neme, MD, MPH, is a board-certified physician and Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at UW Medicine. He currently serves as Chief Medical Officer at the University of Washington Medical Center, Associate Chief Medical Officer for UW Medicine, and Associate Dean in the University of Washington School of Medicine. 

Dr. Neme specializes in internal medicine and infectious diseases. He is a strong advocate for patient empowerment, believing that well-informed patients are better prepared to make thoughtful decisions about their care. In a time marked by the emergence of resistant organisms, novel respiratory pathogens, a resurgence of life-threatening infections, and major advances in HIV prevention and hepatitis C treatment, he finds infectious disease medicine to be both deeply challenging and profoundly rewarding. 

Dr. Neme earned his MD from the National University of Tucumán in Argentina. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine, fellowship in Infectious Diseases, and Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Washington. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA).

Personal Interests

In his free time, Dr. Neme enjoys traveling, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
