Ruth Kohen, M.D., is a board certified geriatric psychiatrist at the Memory and Brain Wellness Clinic at Harborvie and a UW associate professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Kohen evaluates and treats memory disorders and the psychological conditions which sometimes accompany them. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, state-of-the-art care for memory disorder patients and their families.
Dr. Kohen earned her M.D. at the Rheinisch-Westfalische Tech Hochsule Aachen in Germany. She is board certified in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Kohen’s clinical interests include Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, vascular dementia, mild neurocognitive impairment. and age-related changes in memory. Her research interests include genetics and gene expression analysis in psychiatric illness, and the study of gene-environment and gene-treatment interactions in patients suffering from a variety of medical and/or psychological conditions.
In her spare time, Dr. Kohen enjoys exercising, cooking and reading.
