BiographyPhilip Chen, M.D., is a board certified Ophthalmologist and chief of Ophthalmology at the Eye Institute at Harborview and UW Medical Center, the UW's Grace E. Hill Endowed Chair in Vision Research and a UW professor of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Chen's professional passion is to prevent blindness caused by glaucoma. He strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Chen earned his M.D. at Yale. He is an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and has served the American Academy of Ophthalmology in numerous capacities. His clinical and research interests include the diagnosis, management and surgical treatment of all types of glaucoma and cataracts.
Personal InterestsDr. Chen lives in Seattle with his wife and children. His hobbies including hiking, running, gardening and anything he can do with his family.
