Kristi Peterson, RD, is a  registered dietitian at multiple UW Medicine Primary Care clinics. Patients see Kristi for a nutrition-focused visit or for support and education around managing diabetes. Kristi practices a patient-centered, real food approach to nutrition and diabetes care. She sees patients as the experts on their bodies and acknowledges that experiences and culture shape our decisions around health. 

She works with patients to develop individualized plans that are supported by evidence-based information and considers factors beyond just food that may be impacting overall wellness. Kristi uses the term “diet” to mean “way of life" and actively seeks to change the perspective that dietitians are the "food police".

Kristi’s clinical interests include diabetes and gestational diabetes management, gastrointestinal health, and helping families with picky eaters.
