About Kathleen M. O'Connell
Kathleen O’Connell M.D., M.P.H., is a board certified surgeon, critical care physician, and palliative care physician at the University of Washington. She is an assistant professor of Surgery, an adjunct professor of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine, and director of Surgical Palliative Care at Harborview Medical Center.
Dr. O’Connell provides services to patients with general surgery conditions and surgical emergencies at Harborview Medical Center. She strives to deliver comprehensive surgical care centered on the patient and family unit. Dr. O’Connell advocates for open and honest communication between patients, families, and the surgical team to ensure that the treatments provided are congruent with patient-identified goals of care.
