About John W. O'Kane
John W. O'Kane, M.D. is an associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine and UW head team physician. He also holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
Dr. O'Kane earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Dartmouth College and his M.D. from the University of Vermont in Burlington, and then came to the UW for his residency in family medicine. He also completed a primary care sports fellowship in the UW Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
Dr. O'Kane's clinical interests include sports medicine, primary care, athletic team care, musculoskeletal injuries in athletes and active people, and medical issues related to sports performance.
He seeks to partner with his patients to help them stay healthy and active and achieve their competitive goals — from a run around Green Lake to competing in the Olympics.
Personal Interests
Dr. O'Kane enjoys skiing, golf, music and keeping up with his kids.
