Dr. Lukas is a board certified medical oncologist at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center Issaquah where his is an Assistant Clinical Professor with 18 years of cancer care experience.  His areas of special interest stem from both his doctoral efforts in understanding the genetics of breast cancer and his experiences on active duty with the US Navy in Afghanistan.  To that end, he is deeply involved in clinical trials to advance our understand of and ability to treat specifically breast cancer as well as lung cancer and his experiences in the military propelled his interest in making certain that his patients feel that they are the captain of their ship. When faced with a diagnosis of cancer many people appropriately feel out of control. Dr Lukas' mission is to be the best navigator through the complex field of diagnosis therapy and symptom management and to make treatment of cancer the most healing process it can be.

Dr. Lukas believe it is humbling to be a part of a world class organization of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and even more humbling to bring that world class care to Issaquah and Monroe. Cancer treatment requires full comprehension of the physical and mental abilities and desires before embarking on what is often the taxing journey of a lifetime. His mission is to make the journey as successful and healing as possible.
