About Jacob A Bentley
Jacob Bentley, PhD, ABPP, is a psychologist. Dr. Bentley is an Acting Associate Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Bentley works primarily with individuals recovering from injury and/ or long-term conditions that cause disability. His treatment philosophy focuses on helping patients to identify personal strengths and utilizing these areas of resilience to meet goals. He believes that an active, collaborative approach with patients contributes to the best possible outcomes.
His clinical interests include coping with trauma, injury, and disability. His clinical activities often focus on management of post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and body image concerns following injury. His research interests include evaluation of outcomes associated with exposure to physical and psychological trauma in marginalized populations and the development of sustainable community-based health interventions. His research is often located in low-income community settings, locally and internationally.
Personal Interests
Dr. Bentley enjoys hiking, camping, live music, and watching the Seattle Mariners during his free time.
