I informed the doctor that I was hard of hearing twice and my daughter also reminded Dr. Chung that I couldn't not hear him. Yet he kept talking only to my daughter in a manner that was VERY RAPID and soft. He did not even face me. I told him it would help if I could read his lips or he could talk more loudly. He neither faced me nor raised his voice nor tried to slow his speech. My daughter had to interrupt him, remind him that I couldn't hear him, and then retold to me what he was saying as if translating. [...] It would have been nice to hear all this from the doctor.

Dr Chung gave me the answers to questions I've been asking for two years that no one else had been able to answer.

Dr. Chung was friendly and answered questions directly. He did not include me in the decision making for my care. When I told him of an autoimmune condition in one eye, rather than gather details about it, he told me I was mistaken. He showed care about how hard it was not to be believed by doctors, which was weird because in that moment I didn't really get that I wasn't being believed. My husband was in the room and was similarly mystified by some of his comments. I got the idea that he had not carefully reviewed my records. Oddly, I would give him another chance because I liked him so much. I think if he actually reviewed my records, he might have some good advice. We share similar values of conservative treatment.
