Payment Plans

Patient responsibility balances are due and payable 30 days from the date on your statement. This applies to patients with or without health insurance coverage. If you are having difficulty paying your bill in full, you may arrange a payment plan. Please follow the instructions below to set up a payment plan.

University of Washington Physicians

To make financial arrangements with UW Physicians (UWP), call at 206.520.9300, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. You may also call to make an appointment to meet with a customer service representative in person. The billing office is located at 701 Fifth Avenue, Suite 700, Seattle, WA 98104. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.


Patient Financial Services

For UW Medical Center or Harborview Medical Center bills, call Patient Financial Services at 206.598.1950 or 1.877.780.1121 (toll free), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. You may also call to make an appointment to meet with a Patient Financial Services representative. Patient Financial Services is located near I-5 in the University District at the UW Tower, 4333 Brooklyn Avenue NE, Seattle, WA, 98195. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Northwest Hospital & Medical Center's Patient Financial Services Department can assist you with setting up a payment plan.

Valley Medical Center's Patient Financial Services Department can assist you with setting up a payment plan. There are two options available:

  • Up to 9 months interest-free payment arrangement
  • A long-term payment plan through a banking partner (like any bank or credit card, the loan carries interest). If you elect this option, it is important to make your payments on time as late fees apply.

Laboratory Medicine

Payment plans are available for Laboratory Medicine bills with the exclusion of certain elective genetic tests. To arrange a payment plan, call Reference Laboratory Services at 206.616.8900, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. An agent will assist you with setting up a payment plan.


Health Insurance & Financial Assistance

To help you find a health insurance plan, Washington State has set up the Health Benefit Exchange website (wahealthplanfinder.org). You can learn more about how to enroll in the health exchange through the UW Medicine website or Northwest Hospital website and Valley Medical Center website.

UW Medicine offers a Financial Assistance program for the underinsured and uninsured if you need help with your bill. If you would like more information to see if you qualify, you can refer to http://www.uwmedicine.org/financialassistance or contact the UW Medicine Financial Assistance location you are seeking or have received care.
