Samuel Robert Browd, M.D., is an attending neurosurgeon at Seattle Children's Hospital, Harborview Medical Center and the UW Medical Center. Dr. Browd specializes in providing care to children who have hydrocephalus, brain and spinal cord tumors, pediatric cervical spine, spina bifida, Chiari malformations and spasticity.
Dr. Browd earned a combined M.D. and Ph.D. through the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He completed a seven-year residency in neurological surgery as well as a research fellowship focusing on functional magnetic resonance imaging at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City; and he completed a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at University of Washington/Seattle Children's Hospital.
Dr. Browd's research interests include complex, high resolution medical imaging, such as functional neuroimaging, clinical trials and patient outcome, craniopagus twins and cervical spine issues related to down syndrome.
