Bio

Peter Hall is a physician's assistant whose areas of specialty are hip and knee, arthritis and joint replacement. He is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Peter is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Advanced Practice Advisory Council.

Peter began work with the University of Washington Medical Center Orthopedic team in 2008, not long after his graduation from the University of Washington School of Medicine’s MEDEX Northwest program. Prior to his graduation in 2007, he worked in a clinical setting in Orthopedics and also as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Patient Care Philosophy

Peter Hall’s approach to patient care includes respect, compassion and patient education. He feels that information empowers patients to better care for themselves, which allows them to return to better function with less pain.

What Peter enjoys most about his work is connecting with people. He finds it rewarding to open up possibilities for people who have limitations due to pain or other disability. He has seen many people return to outdoor activities and a more active lifestyle through a combination of education and treatment. Peter measures his success by the patient’s ability to return to a more active lifestyle.

Personal Interests

I am active in many year-round outdoor activities with family and friends.

Clinical Interests

Most patients will come in with hip or knee pain, typically associated with arthritis, or meniscal or ligamentous injury. If surgery is necessary, Peter assists Paul Manner, M.D., in the following:

  • Minimally invasive total hip replacement
  • Total hip replacement
  • Minimally-invasive partial knee replacement (unicompartmental)
  • Knee osteotomy
  • Total knee replacement
  • Hemiresurfacing arthroplasty of the hip ("partial hip replacement")
  • Hemiarthroplasty for hip fracture
  • Open reduction internal fixation ("repair") of hip fractures
  • Knee arthroscopy

Teaching Interests

I primarily work with medical students, physician assistant students and residents in both clinical and surgical settings. I find this very enjoyable. It is rewarding to contribute to building the foundation it takes to become a provider.
