Travelers Advised to Plan Ahead for Seahawks Parade on Wednesday
Anyone traveling to UW Medicine or Fred Hutch Cancer Center locations on Wednesday should plan ahead for the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl LX victory parade, which is expected to draw large crowds downtown.
Fourth Avenue from Jackson to Broad Street will be closed starting at 6:30 a.m. Traffic is anticipated well ahead of a 10 a.m. celebration at Lumen Field for ticketed attendees.
The parade is expected to start between 11 a.m. and noon at 4th Avenue and Washington Street. It will proceed north on 4th Avenue through downtown Seattle, ending at the intersection with Cedar Street. The entire route is a little over two miles; the parade is expected to last about two hours.
Vehicles exiting Interstate 90 onto 4th Avenue will be directed south. Interstate 5 and State Route 99 are expected to remain open, though access to downtown will be heavily restricted. Ongoing revitalization and lane closures on the Ship Canal Bridge may add to congestion. Leave additional time as all modes of travel are likely to be impacted.
Those traveling to UW Medicine locations — including UW Medicine Primary Care Clinics, Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center – Montlake, UW Medical Center – Northwest — as well as Fred Hutch Cancer Center can explore alternate routes using the King County Metro Trip Planner or preferred navigation app. Seattle’s Flip Your Trip site provides information on alternate modes of transportation.
