As part of UW Medical Center’s patient- and family-centered care environment, our team works not only to provide the best possible medical care, but also to ensure patients and their families feel supported at all stages of care.

UW Medical Center sponsors
, a group of UWMC transplant recipients, faculty physicians, staff, family and friends who participate annually in the Seattle Marathon and the Seattle Rock'n Roll Marathon. The team’s goal is to promote fitness and organ donation awareness by showing first-hand that transplant recipients can and do lead active, healthy lives. The team was founded and is coached by Alysun Deckert, a UWMC dietitian and former Olympic trials qualifier.
