Universal Precautions Training

Background and instructions

This training is an annual requirement for all medical students.

Entering 2018 students and second-year (MS2) students:

A UW NetID is required to complete this online training. We will send you a link to the training in an email.

You will need to complete three training modules and three quizzes in order to receive credit for your Universal Precautions training.

  1. Infection Control Overview (20 mins)
  2. Bloodborne Pathogens (20 mins)
  3. Respiratory Protection (10 mins)

You need a score of 80% or higher to successfully pass each quiz. If you don’t receive a passing score, you may retake the test until you do pass.

The results of your quizzes will come directly to this office.

MS3 and MS4 students:

You will need to complete the two annual refresher training modules and two quizzes in order to receive credit for your Universal Precautions training. We will send you a link to the training in an email in June. The completion deadline will be in August.

  1. Bloodborne Pathogens (10 mins)
  2. Respiratory Protection (10 mins)

You need a score of 80% or higher to successfully pass each quiz. If you don’t receive a passing score, you may retake the test until you do pass.

The results of your quizzes will come directly to this office.
