Important Information for Current Cigna Patients

In January 2020, Cigna Corporation announced to UW Medicine that it intended to terminate its contract with UW Medical Center and UW Physicians. This termination was set to go into effect on August 1, 2020.

In July 2020, Cigna and UW Medicine reached an agreement and the contract will no longer be terminated. This means current patients who have Cigna coverage will be able to continue to receive in-network care at UW Medical Center and from UW Physicians practicing at Harborview Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Cigna patients will continue to have UW Medicine covered as an in-network benefit after August 1 and for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this negotiation period.
