Patients who choose UW Medicine benefit from our experience, expertise and the most advanced medical care available, all within one health system.

Harborview Medical Center and UW Medical Center together account for 41,000 patient admissions and 1 million outpatient and emergency room visits to the two hospitals and affiliated clinics each year. As academic medical centers, we provide the latest in medical discoveries, diagnoses and treatments. Our physicians not only treat patients, but conduct scientific research and teach the next generation of medical professionals.

Our network of nine UW Neighborhood Clinics throughout Puget Sound offers a complete spectrum of primary care services for the entire family, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Our clinic patients have access to the many specialized services we offer throughout UW Medicine.

Airlift Northwest, an air medical transport service, also is part of UW Medicine. Founded by a consortium of hospitals in the Seattle area, including Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center and Seattle Children’s, Airlift Northwest has provided air medical transport for more than 60,000 patients since 1982.

No matter where you choose to receive your care, UW Medicine embraces patient- and family-centered care as the best way to deliver health care. We provide patients and their families with a welcoming physical environment, respect for their values, empowerment and collaboration, coordination and integration of care, comfort and support, and access and navigation skills.
