Surgical treatments for diseases of the lung, esophagus and chest
The Thoracic Surgery Clinic at Harborview Medical Center offers a comprehensive approach to the treatment of lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies, including tumors of the mediastinum, pleura, chest wall and esophagus.
The Harborview Thoracic Surgery Clinic also evaluates and manages a wide variety of benign thoracic diseases and conditions that can require surgical treatment, including pleural effusions and infections, pulmonary nodules, chest wall deformities, trauma and thoracic outlet syndrome.
Our thoracic surgeons and clinic staff work closely with a broad range of specialists and providers across UW Medicine to ensure patients receive a multidisciplinary, personalized, contemporary approach—including video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS)—in their evaluation and management. In conjunction with the Harborview mission, the Thoracic Surgery Clinic is also especially committed to ensuring that our region’s most vulnerable residents receive exemplary thoracic surgical care and services.
