Physical and hand therapy for patients with musculoskeletal injuries and/or conditions
The Physical and Hand Therapy Clinic at Harborview Medical Center offers top-notch care to patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal and orthopedic injuries or issues. We have skilled and experienced therapists who will evaluate your condition and develop a treatment plan to work towards your goals.
Whether you’re suffering from a condition such as a torn meniscus or knee ligament injury or simply want to improve your performance, our specialists will help get you back on top of your game.
Our physical therapists work with patients after injury or surgery of the neck, back, shoulder, hip and knee. We treat patients with balance issues and work on fall prevention. We have skilled and experienced therapists who specialize in foot and ankle injuries and therapists with expertise in pelvic floor rehab for women and men.
Our certified hand therapists work with patients who have had upper extremity trauma, as well as patients with elbow, wrist and hand pain or repetitive stress injuries.
A referral from your medical provider is required for therapy care in this clinic. Please request a referral from your provider so that we may help you initiate care.
Driving Directions
The Ninth & Jefferson building is at 908 Jefferson Street between 9th and Terry Avenues in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood.
The Ninth & Jefferson Building (NJB) is adjacent to Harborview Medical Center (see map). NJB's main walk-in entrance is on Jefferson Street, just east of Ninth Avenue.
For drop-off, a patient drop-off zone is located on Jefferson Street, between 9th Avenue and Terry Avenue.
From Interstate 5:
- Exit at James Street.
- Turn up the hill onto James Street.
- Turn right onto Terry Avenue, then access the building's parking garage on the right.
By Bus
King County Metro Transit provides regular bus service to Harborview (325 Ninth Ave.) on several routes, including the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 60. Use Metro's Trip Planner to learn which buses you can take to the medical center and other sites on its campus, which include the Norm Maleng Building, Ninth and Jefferson Building and Patricia Steel Building.
Park in garage P2. The garage entrance is on Terry Ave, between James St and Jefferson St. Take the parking garage elevators to the main lobby.
- View Park Garage/P1 on Eighth Avenue between Alder and Jefferson Streets.
- Ninth and Jefferson Building garage/P2 on Terry Avenue between Jefferson and James Streets. The garages are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Harborview Medical Center and the Patricia Steel Building offer ramps at their main entrances. The Norm Maleng and Ninth and Jefferson buildings enable easy access for all visitors. Security personnel also are available to help people enter and leave facilities.
