Complete care for patients with high cholesterol and related conditions

Lipid Clinic Northwest at Harborview Medical Center cares for patients with high cholesterol and blood fats, a condition known as hyperlipidemia. We provide advanced management of lipid disorders and related metabolic and endocrine problems, including the evaluation and management of hyperlipidemia, heart disease risk and related health problems. We also provide lipid apheresis for people who are dealing with otherwise unmanageable hypercholesterolemia/hyperlipidemia.

We offer patients laboratory testing, diet assessment and education and physical examinations to diagnose the origin and/or cause of lipid and related abnormalities and to assess heart disease risk factors; individualized risk management through diet and medication; and consultation for primary care providers on specific cases. We have a registered dietitian with special expertise in cholesterol and lipoprotein metabolism providing patient education on-site.

We handle prescriptions for established patients on a daily basis, and we also perform research activities for interested patients outside regularly scheduled clinic appointment hours.

Why We Charge for Parking
The Washington State Legislature and King County mandates that parking at Harborview be self-supporting. As a King County-owned, state-managed institution, all garages and parking lots on our campus are paid for out of parking revenues. Harborview parking revenues must pay for all repairs, bonds and loans on all parking facilities. Parking revenues are also used to subsidize various Harborview commuter programs and the valet service. According to the state legislature, parking revenues must pay for all these expenses and may not come from other sources.
