Genetic-based kidney disease diagnosis and testing at Harborview
The Kidney Genetics Clinic at Harborview Medical Center assists with diagnosis and testing when a referring provider suspects genetic kidney disease. We perform testing through the UW Center for Precision Diagnostics, a federally-certified lab specializing in genetic testing.
Genetic counseling is available before and after testing to help patients understand the implications of the findings. Individual tests for specific genes are available, along with multigene tests for various conditions of interest.
For some patients, we focus on providing genetic diagnostic services, and the patients return for ongoing care to their referring provider. For others, we provide comprehensive care for chronic kidney disease management.
