The Center of Occupational Health and Education (COHE)
at UW Medicine Harborview provides occupational health expertise to workers, providers, and employers with the goal of improving injured worker health and reducing disability.
Since 2007, the UW Medicine Harborview COHE has worked with our community to optimize occupational health practices through education and by facilitating communication and collaboration among those affected by workplace injuries.
The UW Medicine Harborview COHE is one of four COHEs in Washington State. COHEs are supported by the WA Department of Labor and Industries and advised by representatives from labor and business communities. COHE works with workers, employers, and providers to improve worker health and outcomes:
COHE providers and Health Services Coordinators work with you and your employer to help you return to work safely. Health Service Coordinators are available to assist you with workers’ compensation paperwork and questions.
COHE connects you to resources to create a pro-active return-to-work program at your place of business and provides you with claim-specific assistance.
COHE offers education and mentoring on occupational health best practices, provides incentives for following best practices, and educates your clinic staff on administrative practices that help support the care of workers’ compensation patients.
