Inpatient Nutrition Services

Our registered dietitians (RDs) work with patients, family members and the entire healthcare team to ensure that patients’ nutritional care needs are well met. In addition to evaluating and educating patients, RDs sponsor conferences for healthcare professionals that feature training on the latest nutrition support practices.

Ambulatory Care Nutrition Services

Our registered dietitians (RDs) provide nutrition-related evaluation and education for our outpatient clinic patients of all ages.

Our registered dietitians (RD) work with Harborview providers to help improve patients' health through quality food and lifestyle choices. Each patient meets with a dietitian for an individual nutrition consultation so that his or her unique needs can be assessed. Patients actively participate in choosing areas of focus and goals they would like to achieve. RDs make personalized recommendations and schedule patient follow-up visits as needed.

The registered dietitian can help patients to:

  • Achieve a healthy weight
  • Lower cholesterol levels
  • Improve blood pressure
  • Manage diabetes
  • Improve tolerance to foods after surgery or cancer treatments
  • Learn how to prepare healthy foods and menus on a budget

Nutrition counseling is available in the following clinics. Patients may ask a Harborview provider for a referral:
