Ninth & Jefferson, a 14-story building located across the street from the main medical center, is bordered by Terry, James and Jefferson streets and serves as a new gateway to the Harborview campus.
NJB houses specialty services such as, the Eye Institute, Global Health, WWAMI Institute for Simulation in Healthcare (WISH), Neurosciences, Otolaryngology, Orthopaedics, UW Medicine Sports and Spine Center and the Sleep Institute.
UW School of Medicine has expanded research space to continue its mission of discovery. Additionally, vital King County services are located in this new building on campus, along with retail businesses.
The 440,000-square-foot building was designed to complement others on the Harborview campus. The entrance to the building’s underground 650-space parking garage is located on Terry Avenue, on the building’s east side.
The exterior is a combination of the classic Harborview brick at the base with recessed window openings and granite columns on the street level.
