Scholarships - Funding Opportunities

School of Medicine Scholarship:

The UW School of Medicine Scholarship is a need-based scholarship. The application is available in February and must be submitted by the end of May of the year prior to receipt of the scholarship.  Incoming students who are admitted after the deadline should contact UWSOM Financial Aid and they will work with you to ensure you can still submit your information. On their website, you will also find this additional information:

External Scholarships:

Students enrolled at The University of Washington School of Medicine may also apply for external scholarships. Students should review the application instructions and eligibility requirements of each scholarship in detail before applying. Unless otherwise noted, all application materials and supporting documentation should be sent directly to the foundation offering the specific scholarship. Students are encouraged to search for external funding opportunities to offset their education expenses.  The UWSOM Financial Aid Office maintains a list of funding opportunities as they become available. Their list is not exhaustive; there may be others available. Be creative in using search engines as you look for external scholarships. Some scholarships are designated for students who are immigrants, or who are from specific ethnic/racial backgrounds. Others support students from various religious groups or service organizations, such as Rotary International.

Scholarships for Underrepresented Minority Medical Students:
