Dr. Yuli McCann is an excellent rheumatologist! The care she has given me for many years now is wonderful. She is kind, caring, gentle, and very knowledgeable about the latest research that has been done for RA. She listens attentively to my concerns and any issues I'm having [...] She always knows what the best treatment should be for me specifically.

Although the doctor described the options for treatment well, she showed absolutely no empathy whatsoever. I felt like I was talking to a robot. She did not give any physical examination whatsoever, nor has anyone at this clinic. A simple recognition of the pain and frustration patients experience would help more than medicine, but doctors at this clinic seem incapable of giving any comfort at all. They don't offer any resources, online or in the community, which may be helpful to patients in dealing with the disease.

Understanding and caring

The doctor was dispassionate at best, and dismissive & invalidating at worst. I left the visit feeling completely defeated & hopeless. [...] She barely made eye contact with me. I felt patronized, clueless, and as though I was very stupid to even be telling her my symptoms. My PCP referred me here, this doctor treated me as though I'd shown up of my own accord (7 hour drive round trip) with no justification for her time or care. I thanked her after the visit, and she simply walked out of the room. So awful

This visit was adequate, but my very first visit was disappointing. The doctor did not give me an examination, did not exhibit familiarity with my history of symptoms, medication or other treatment, and did not show concern for the severity of my pain.
