Xiaoli Chen, MD, MBA, FCAP, is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology. She received her medical degree from Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China, and completed her residency and fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Additionally, she received an MBA for Executives from Yale University School of Management. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Chen has served as a Medical Director in clinical and pathology laboratories at Drexel University College of Medicine and Beebe Healthcare. She is now the Medical Director at University of Washington Medical Center Laboratories, overseeing operations at both the Montlake and Northwest campuses. She also holds a position as a Professor of Clinical Practice at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Dr. Chen is passionate about improving patient care through teamwork and believes that the best outcomes are achieved by building trust, making a positive impact, and embracing diversity. Dr. Chen has a strong interest in continuous improvement in the quality of patient care and is dedicated to providing the best possible care in the fields of laboratory medicine and pathology.
Dr. Chen is a breast pathologist with over 25 years of diagnostic expertise in surgical pathology, cytopathology, and clinical laboratory medicine, along with more than 20 years of leadership and management experience as a medical director in pathology and laboratory medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Chen enjoys playing the piano, reading, swimming, and spending time with her family. She is also active in the community, supporting public health initiatives and promoting education on parenting and mental well-being for children and students.
