Biography

William Van Cleve, M.D., M.P.H., is a board certified anesthesiologist and pediatrician at UW Medical Center and associate director of the UW residency program in Anesthesiology.

As a board certified pediatrician, Dr. Van Cleve considers himself well versed in the medical needs of adults with congenital, developmental and complex health problems. He strives to partner with families and caregivers to achieve optimal outcomes.

Dr. Van Cleve earned his M.D. at the University of Chicago and his M.P.H. at the UW. He is board certified in Pediatric Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics and in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. His clinical and research interests include perioperative anxiety, adults with cognitive or other developmental disabilities, multimodal analgesia, anesthesia for airway surgery and international anesthetic and surgical care.
