About William P. Shuman
William Shuman, M.D., is a board certified radiologist and director of Radiology for UW Medicine. He is also a UW professor and acting chair of Radiology. He provides services at UW Medical Center and UWMC Roosevelt Clinic.
Dr. Shuman’s professional interests center on body imaging with CT and MR, particularly cardiac imaging with non-invasive techniques. He is always mindful of placing the patient perspective first and foremost in everything he does. He uses the most advanced imaging technology to help diagnose correctly and thus cure disease and alleviate suffering through rapid, accurate imaging.
Dr. Shuman earned his M.D. from the State University of New York. He holds Level 3 Experience in Cardiac CT Certification as recognized by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and holds Cardiac CT Board Certification from the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. He teaches radiology fellows and residents and, occasionally, medical students about radiology technology and professionalism.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Shuman enjoys boating (sail and power), hiking, fly-fishing internationally and traveling.
