About Whitney Lynn Carlson

Whitney Carlson, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist and geriatric psychiatrist. She is the medical director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Services Clinic at Harborview. Dr. Carlson believes in providing an empathic, open setting to which patients and families can bring questions and concerns about aging, including adjustment to aging, memory concerns, mood problems, and psychosis.

Dr. Carlson's clinical interests include aging in chronic mental illness, mood disorders, nursing home psychiatry/consult liaison psychiatry, ethics, and palliative care.

Personal Interests

Dr. Carlson enjoys spending time with her three children and husband, and dog, walking, reading, cooking, and watching hockey and football.
