About Vyshak Alva Venur
Vyshak Venur, MD, is a board-certified medical oncologist and neuro-oncologist who specializes in treating patients with brain tumors, brain metastases, and cancer spread to the spinal fluid.
Dr. Alva Venur’s research focuses on the development of new treatment options for brain tumors and brain metastases. He has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, and book chapters. He has served as a reviewer for several journals. He is an active member of the ASCO trainee council, professional development committee, and the annual meeting professional development education committee.
Dr. Venur received his MD degree from Armed Forces Medical College, India. He worked as a Medical Officer at Changi General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, and National Cancer Center, Singapore. He completed internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic-Fairview Hospital and hematology and oncology fellowship at University of Iowa. He was a chief fellow during the senior year for the hematology and oncology fellowship at University of Iowa. He also completed an additional year of neuro-oncology fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA.

Dr. Venur enjoys travelling, reading non-fiction books and spending time with family.
