About Tzevan Poon
Tzevan Poon, M.D., is a board certified liver transplant and critical care anesthesiologist and director of the UW Medical Center's Surgical Intensive Care Unit and a UW assistant professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine and Medicine.
Dr. Poon and his team’s goal is to foster genuine relationships, to guide and advocate for each patient within the medical system and work with patients to deliver the best medical care possible. He also hopes to train the next generation of residents and medical students to be good listeners, compassionate healers and highly skilled physicians.
Dr. Poon earned his M.D. at Cornell. He is triple board certified in Critical Care, Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology. His clinical interests include liver transplant, diagnosis and management of coagulopathy, massive hemorrhage, complex cardiovascular shock and acute respiratory failure.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Poon enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and reading (and chatting) about ancient and modern history, geography and architecture. He was once a teacher in New York City, and a bicycle mechanic in a former life.
