Tyra L. Fainstad, M.D. is a general internist providing primary care to adult patients at the Roosevelt General Internal Medicine Clinic. In addition, she works as a teacher for residents and medical students.

Dr. Fainstad earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz and her M.D. from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Fainstad's clinical interests include general primary care, medical education, women's health and adolescent health.

Dr. Fainstad loves working in a general internal medicine primary care clinic because it incorporates all of her main areas of interest: managing chronic/complex conditions, teaching medical students and residents, and leadership in medical innovation. As a physician, she finds joy in building continuity with patients and practicing multi-faceted care.

Dr. Fainstad enjoys travel, backpacking, cooking and theater.
