About Robert Torrance Andrews
R. Torrance (Torre) Andrews, MD is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Washington and a member of the Interventional Radiology section. He previously served on the faculty at Johns Hopkins, Oregon Health & Science University (the Dotter Institute), and the University of California at Davis. He also spent several years in private practice at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.
Dr. Andrews believes in a team approach to patient care and providing the most current information so patients can make informed decisions, especially about surgery. His number one goal is helping patients return to the activities they enjoy most.
Although Dr. Andrews’ career has included all aspects of interventional radiology from intracranial interventions, aortic endografting, and the management of peripheral arterial disease, his primary clinical interest is the management of patients with end-stage liver disease, liver cancer, and liver transplant. He has also dedicated significant clinical and research effort to the management of uterine fibroids and pelvic venous diseases.
Personal Interests
Growing up in San Diego, Dr. Andrews always considered Oregon and Washington—and, really, everything north of San Fransisco—as Canadian wilderness, but he’s now been in Seattle for more than 20 years and would never go back. He and his family enjoy skiing in the winter and wakeboarding in the summer.
