Hematology, Medical oncology

Timothy Carlos, M.D., is a board certified hematologist and medical oncologist at SCCA at Evergreen Health and a UW assistant professor of Oncology and associate professor of Medicine.

Dr. Carlos became a doctor because he enjoys the interpersonal interactions with patients and the science of medicine. With a primary interest in hematology, he learned to enjoy solid tumor oncology while serving as an oncologist in the Air Force from 1982 to 1986.

Dr. Carlos earned his M.D. at Georgetown University. He is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Carlos is active in clinical research trials for gastrointestinal and lung cancers, as well as malignant hematology. The future of medicine he sees that a shift in a molecular approach to therapies will supersede the historical use of chemotherapy.

Outside of work, Dr. Carlos enjoys outdoor activities, photography and reading.
