Thuan D. Ong, M.D., is a board certified physician with the Senior Care Clinic and Palliative Care Services at Harborview. He is also a UW Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine, Gastroenterology and Medicine.

Dr. Ong practices primary care and consultative geriatrics in inpatient and outpatient settings. He focuses on promoting a healthy lifestyle among older adults. He also educates other health professionals to be competent in the care of older adults.

Dr. Ong earned his M.D. from Saint Louis University. He is a Geriatric Academic Career Awardee of the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration, and a medical director for Providence Hospice. His research focus is to develop methods and tools to assess learners' competency in providing care to the aging population. He teaches medical students, internal medicine residents, and geriatric medicine fellows.
