Thuan D. Ong, M.D., is a board certified physician in geriatric medicine at Harborview Medical Center and is with the University of Washington Post-Acute Care Service.
Dr. Ong practices primary care, consultative geriatric medicine in inpatient and outpatient settings, and cares for University of Washington patients in select skilled nursing facilities. He focuses on promoting a healthy lifestyle among older adults and his number one goal is to help patients to improve or maintain their current level of function. He educates other health professionals to be competent in the care of older adults.
Dr. Ong earned his M.D. from Saint Louis University. He was a Geriatric Academic Career Awardee of the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration. His current focus is on how to better care for patients going from one care setting to another. He teaches medical students, internal medicine residents, and geriatric medicine fellows in the venues in practices.
In his free time, Dr. Ong enjoys trail running, reading, and being present in the moment.
