Dr Gallagher is extremely good at working with me, showing a lot of concern over my issues. He comes in up-to-date on what's going on, having thoroughly reviewed my case before hand. (Not all doctors do this; many read my case notes during appointments.) He is very sincere, concerned with what I'm going through both medically and psychologically. Dr. Gallagher showed concern for my areas if concern and questions. He maintains eye contact during the visit, asked a number of questions regarding a previous visit with another provider. When I asked a number of questions about supplements for seniors, he treated them as valid. Despite having to keep to the clinic schedule, he was concerned about answering all my questions before finishing with my appointment.
About Thomas H. Gallagher
Thomas H. Gallagher M.D. is an attending physician in the Division of General Internal Medicine based at UWMC and Roosevelt. He is a professor of medicine and bioethics & humanities at the UW School of Medicine.
Dr. Gallagher is board certified in internal medicine. He earned his bachelor's degree from Carleton College in Minnesota and his M.D. from Harvard University. He completed his internship and residency at Washington University, St. Louis, and did a fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Gallagher's clinical interest is primary care medicine. His research focuses on valuing and improving the patient-physician relationship. This focus on understanding and supporting the needs of each individual patient is equally important to his work as a primary care physician.
