About Thomas B. Dodson
Thomas Dodson, D.M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.S., is a board-certified surgeon, service chief at UW Medical Center, chair of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, acting chair of Pediatric Dentistry and a UW professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Dodson is a national expert in oral and maxillofacial surgery. As a patient-oriented researcher, his patients are his partners in seeking excellent outcomes from their treatment.
Dr. Dodson earned his M.D. and M.P.H. from Harvard. He is associate editor of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In October, 2016, Dr. Dodson became one of the first dentists inducted as a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. His clinical and research interests include the management and operative treatment of impacted wisdom teeth, dental implants, reconstructive jaw surgery, obstructive sleep apnea, jaw lesions and other pathology.
