T. Andrew Bowdle, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.S.E., is a board certified anesthesiologist and medical director of UW Medicine’s Anesthesiology Technical Services and the director of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Simulation. He is also a UW professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and an adjunct professor of Pharmaceutics.
Dr. Bowdle is intensely interested in bringing constant improvements in patient safety to the UW’s practice of anesthesiology.
Dr. Bowdle earned his M.D. and Ph.D. at the UW. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia and section editor for Anesthetic Pharmacology for the online medical knowledge resource, “UpToDate.”
Dr. Bowdle is board certified in Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardigraphy and Anesthesiology and is a fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography. Dr. Bowdle’s current research primarily involves safety issues, infection prevention and the use of checklists.
In his free time Dr. Bowdle enjoys road cycling, alpine skiing and photography.
