Susanna H. Shin, M.D., is a board-certified vascular surgeon with UW Medicine. She is also a UW assistant professor of Vascular Surgery and site director for surgical residents at Valley Medical Center in Renton.

Dr. Shin strives to create active partnerships with her patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Shin earned her M.D. at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed Vascular Surgery fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, one of the most well-known training programs in the country. Dr. Shin’s clinical interests include peripheral arterial disease for saving a leg, aneurysm disease for the prevention of rupture and death, carotid artery disease for the prevention of strokes, dialysis access and vein disease. Her research interests include peripheral arterial disease, surgical education and vein disease.

Personal Interests

Dr. Shin enjoys quilting, gardening, hiking, ultimate Frisbee and fitness. She also takes great joy in mentoring future physicians and surgeons.
