I have had this procedure many times at different hospitals. It causes me great anxiety each time. This was the first I have had post spine surgery. This was the friendliest teams I have encountered, everyone was lovely. and the doctor explained things very clearly as to what his options were because of my previous surgery.
Dr. Johnson was very nice and listened to my concerns about my back.
During the procedure, Dr.Johnson was very kind & gentle as he explained what he was doing, so I was prepared for the discomfort of the spinal injection. His staff was kind to me, too.
Dr. Johnson was amazing and incredibly courteous. I was extremely late though I called and when I apologized, he made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Johnson has an excellent bedside manner and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone else in need.
Top notch provider!

One of the best and most intuitive doctors I have dealt with at UW.

I was very pleased with the treatment and responses from the doctor and the PA.
While I was familiar with procedure from previous time, he still took the time to review just what would happen and expectations.

Dr Johnson was very clear about what to expect both during the procedure and about outcome. He seems engaged and concerned.
Dr. Steven Johnson listened attentively and did a through exam. He reviewed the X-rays and asked if I had any questions. He answered re PRP's. He answered my questions regarding an MRI. He was excellent and I will definitely recommend him. I came away with many tools.
Dr. Johnson listens like a good friend but I recognize his assessments are professional and combination makes a comfortable visit.
Both doctors were very patient listening to my history and asking questions about my symptoms. I was impressed that the doctor had read charts from my PCP notes going years back.
The physician took time to thoroughly answer all of our questions and concerns.
The doctor made a good diagnosis and he explained very well what my back pain was. Since I am leaving soon for [...], he gave me a copy of the Spine Conditioning Program that I can do when I go back home. [...]
Dr. Alexander was excellent [...]
Dr Johnson was pleasant but he didn't seem very interested in my situation. I was in a lot of pain and he didn't show much empathy. It would have been helpful to hear his diagnosis and his recommendations for treatment. He was vague around instructions for rest vs exercise and did not offer a recovery or rehab plan. He did not offer suggestions for how to manage pain such as anti inflammatories, ice vs heat, rest, elevation. It would have been helpful to understand the progression of this type of injury. He was pleasant, professional, and polite but also passive. I needed more from a provider that day.
