I was very grateful that Dr Houston explained things in a way that I could understand. He showed me the MRI and explained what I was actually looking at. He also explained the need for surgery was not now and Why, pointing to the spots on the MRi. He also explained the possible side effects from surgery, whenever it becomes necessary. I am so pleased with Dr Houston and thankful for his help. I think every day about what he told me and proceed accordingly. It's such a relief to know the cause of my pain and what I can and can't do about it. Thank you, Dr Houston!
Our first time(my family present) to see Dr Houston. He explained well my medical situation and made recommendations. He patiently answered all our questions/concerns. We are glad he was referred to me since this Is my first time to see a Neurosurgeon. It was supposed to be a 15 minute consultation but Dr end up spending 30 minutes with us. We appreciate his understanding.

Dr. Houston is the best surgeon I've seen. I've seen others and the others. And their professionalism did not come close to Dr. Houston. He is a prime example of what a person would expect from a doctor.

I've been to several neuro neurosurgeons (not at UW) and this was the first time I was really treated like an adult (I'm ~50 years old). Really wonderful communication.
Was disappointed with provider. Didn't explain enough about medical condition or offer much information.
Dr. Houston is a great provider. He is both professional and caring.
Dr. Houston did a thorough job of going over my MRI and symptoms (we had an earlier telehealth visit, so he was familiar with my situation).
