Biography

Stefan Lombaard, M.D., is a board certified anesthesiologist and director of Anesthesiology Simulation Training at UW Medical Center and a UW assistant professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Lombard likes to work as part of a team in taking care of patients who have severe cardiac disease. Having been a patient himself, he would like to make each patient's experience as stress- and pain-free as possible.

Dr. Lombaard earned his M.D. at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He is certified in the use of transesophageal echocardiography and is a member of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists. Dr, Lombaard’s clinical and research interests include anesthesia for patients with significant cardiac or respiratory disease, transesophageal echocardiography and management of implantable cardiac devices during surgery

Personal Interests

In his free time Dr. Lombaard enjoys open source computing and skiing.
