Srinivas M. Susarla, DMD, MD, MPH is the Marlys C. Larson Endowed Chair in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery, Section Chief of Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery and a Professor of Surgery and Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington. He also serves as the Division Chief of Craniofacial and Plastic Surgery and the Surgical Director of the Craniofacial Center at Seattle Children's Hospital.
Dr. Susarla's clinical practice focuses on pediatric and adult craniomaxillofacial reconstructive surgery, including management of craniosynostosis, cleft lip and palate, dentofacial deformities, maxillofacial pathology, and primary and secondary reconstruction following craniomaxillofacial trauma. Dr. Susarla strives to treat all patients and their families as though they are members of his own family, ensuring they always receive the best care possible.
Dr. Susarla completed his undergraduate education at Princeton University, his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, dental degree at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and a Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard School of Public Health. He then completed surgical residencies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Plastic Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. These were followed by fellowship training in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington Harborview Medical Center.
Dr. Susarla has an active research portfolio, with over 250 peer-reviewed publications and several dozen textbook chapters. He currently serves on the editorial boards for a number of journals including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has given over 60 invited lectures nationally and internationally on cleft and craniofacial surgery, orthognathic surgery, and craniofacial trauma reconstruction.
Dr. Susarla is one of the few craniomaxillofacial surgeons in the United States who is board certified in both Plastic Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Susarla enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and traveling.
